An IBJJF Certified Academy in Costa Mesa Since 2000
Boran's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy has trained students in Costa Mesa, California since March 2000. It is certified by both the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and the United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and led by Professor James Boran, a 6th-degree black belt and one of the Dirty Dozen.

Every class is led by Professor James Boran, a 6th-degree black belt and one of the Dirty Dozen, the first twelve Americans ever promoted to black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He trained under Rorion, Royler, Royce and Rickson Gracie, and received his black belt from Professor Joe Moreira.

Where can I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Costa Mesa?
Boran Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is at 1548 Adams Ave, Suite F, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. We have been teaching in Costa Mesa since March 2000 and also serve students from Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Santa Ana and Tustin.
Do I need any experience to start?
No. Beginners are welcome in every group class, and your first week of training is free so you can try it before committing to anything.
Who teaches the classes?
Professor James Boran, a 6th-degree black belt certified by the IBJJF and USBJJF, and a member of the Dirty Dozen, the first twelve Americans to receive a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Do you teach children?
Yes. Our kids' program runs six days a week for ages 4 to 15, split into separate 4–7 and 8–15 groups on weekdays with an all-ages class on Saturday mornings.
